My name is Niklas. I eat babies if they're left unattended. As Rae.
Alright. Emrys has drug me from else. So, that's umm..why you're all now
Niamh is Asa and Emrys' daughter. Young. Umm. Looking for people to rp with. And stuff.
So, that's my lame introduction.
Saul is a very sensitive and emotional young man, raised in Weirmonken by his mother Ellena and his brother Eli.
He has been known to tilt at windmills and embraces the idea of saving or rescuing someone fully.
The Windchaser boys were raised in a very rural/backward area of Weirmonken, where people had very little except the pack and they took care of little problems with thier mother's help.
When Mom was busy, she sometimes left them with "Uncle" Stan. Because of Eli's birth defect (? you'd have to ask Eli for sure, but this is Saul's impression), his mother continued training him, as if to take her own job or a similar one, eventually.
Saul was sent out for 'mystical' training with some elders-Eli snagged him and took him to look for Mom.
Mom wasn't found, but they found out she was looking into information on the Black Road. When the went back to smooth things over with the "elders" they were all dead and mutilated including Vera, Saul's 'intended' mate.
Anyway, to sum, up Eli got wounded, by serendipity Cosimo came along and offered to heal him and they took passage with Cosimo to Amber-for a price-both men have been working for guards at Mandrake sense.
Ellena made it to Amber, and seems likely to find her sons before they actually get around to finding her.
Go team.
I guess I'll have to come to terms with the Shaman beliefs, since I had training in my background but don't see why someone with the badassery of the Windchaser brothers would be sent off to train in that type of thing.
Saul's not quite as badass as Eli, but he /has/ the Weir gift which in most cases help with the healing up after the beating.
Granted Eli and I were given pretty much no information about Weirmonken and there wasn't much on the RTA wiki at that point when our backgrounds were approved-and we've had very small contact with the rest of the Weir due to having to come up with an IC hook to be in Amber for rp.
The Player: As many of you know, I've been helping Emrys with working on getting the shadow of Weir together, as well as starting development of this wiki. I've got a few visions as to the Weir, crafted by both experiences in Amber and other fantasy genres, such as the Silver Wolf trilogy by Alice Borchardt, and my own mind. I'm always available as a second opinion/sounding board on things, and will do all I can to help answer any questions. When I don't have the answer myself, I'm also more than happy to pester Emrys, even if he's not logged on. Really. Please, give me an excuse to. ;)
The Character: Rae is one of the Weir, a born member of the Shadowdancer pack. She's young, as Weir go, only in her twenties. Currently, she serves as Fool to Prince Adelgar and his family, and has come to Amber at his beckoning. Few know that Rae is also a Seer, though recent events have started to spread that knowledge. As any fool would, she hides her wisdom in teasing remarks, points out truths that only those slightly insane would dare to, and does much to make people smile. She also has some very nice collarbones.
Is me, The Asa
For my part, I'm encouraging players (both shaman and otherwise) to have an active role in developing the shaman traditions and mysticism. I will be happy to help out, engage in discussions to flesh out beliefs, but in the end I will dictate very little to nothing at all. I hold to the idea that belief systems are mortal constructs in an attempt to interpret the will of one's gods, and do not necessarily have to agree with what the god actually thinks. :)
Hallo. I'll be playing your friendly nature goddess, though right now she's known by another name by the Weir. My goal with the character's involvement is to create interesting play, provide hooks, and to offer a bit of help on the mysticism side. Asa offers knowledge over powerbits (there is no Asa worship powersource), and one tenative thing being worked out is her involvement in teaching the Weir a thing or two about nature and its magics.
Asa's amber based cult is, as some of you know, likely to be different from what's come about in Weirmonken. Should it ever become known that she and the Weir's nature goddess are one and the same (something a shaman player might be able to spark off)… Well, I see all kinds of possibilities.
The Weir have long held certain shamanistic beliefs and much of their power has been in the hands of nature worshipers. This gives us an excellent place to tie into another prop on R2A. Namely, the cult of Asa. She has agreed to be known in Weirmonken, though we think under a different name. Her Cult there is responsible for much of our nature knowledge. Currently, it's also mostly female in nature. For the most part (exceptions exist), the Men of the Weir are warriors, the Women are the mystics.
Hello,
Most of you know me by now, in some capacity or another. Many of you I've enjoyed playing with on other MU*s. I've enjoyed helping get the Weir off the ground and look forward to having more of you on board.
That said, let me just mention a bit about my style of propcoing. I have a vision for Weirmonken, but none of it is set in stone. There are aspects of the shadow which the Wizards have dictated to us, and there are aspects that we can create ourselves. Over the coming days I'll be trying to fill out some info on the Wiki, and some of it will first be mentioned in the forums. Please, if it's posted in the forums, discuss it. Add your imput. This shadow belongs to all of us, and you should have your imput too!
